Description

Gayle and John Robinson started the business in 2002 from their basement flat in Teignmouth, Devon, with just one style, the original Lazy Jacks drill shirt. From there they pulled the orders, loaded up their car and delivered the shirts direct to a small number of locally based clients. They quickly sold out and introduced our first sweatshirt, our bestselling product, the unisex fit LJ3 sweatshirt.

In 2003 John & Gayle moved away from Devon to rural Shropshire and found themselves running the business from a warehouse in their garden. Never shy of a challenge, they set about renovating their cottage at the same time as continuing to develop the Lazy Jacks range.

In November 2008, the Robinson clan grew and so they decided to return to their flat in Teignmouth. By this time Lazy Jacks had outgrown the flat and the business moved to its current home, just outside Newton Abbot, Devon.
As the Robinson family has grown so has our range which now includes something for everyone, whether you are 1 or 100. We supply to over 400 independent shops throughout the UK, a handful of stores in Europe and even one on the far flung Falkland Islands.

The name Lazy Jacks originates from the sailing fraternity, they are ropes used on yachts and boats to assist in sail handling and as we started off as a yachtwear company the name seemed to fit. Coincidentally, at the time John and Gayle owned a very lazy cat called Jack which seemed to confirm that their brand should be called Lazy Jacks.

Our range is full of bright and fresh colours which run through the range and which we like to think give Lazy Jacks its distinctive style. All our garments are pre-washed at source to minimise any shrinkage so the garment you buy will stay its original size wash after wash.
